IEEE WAMICON Announces the 2017 Conference Venue & Technical Program Focus

FPO

COCOA BEACH, FL - September 12, 2016 - The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Wireless and Microwave Technology Conference (WAMICON), today announced the 18th annual event which will take place in Cocoa Beach Florida. The conference, which will focus on power amplifiers, semiconductors and software for 5G wireless communications and the Internet of Things (IoT), will take place from April 24-25, 2017.

The conference will address up-to-date multidisciplinary research needs and interdisciplinary aspects of high efficiency power amplifiers, linearization enhancement techniques, and device modeling. The technical track includes various microwave applications, including wireless sensing, energy harvesting, radar, and nano devices/circuits. The program includes both oral and poster presentations as well as tutorials and special sessions.

"As wireless and microwave technologies continue to grow in importance in our everyday lives, engineers make advancements in segments, such as 5G and IoT to find ways to increase data rates, increase efficiency, and more effectively use the spectrum available." said general chair Craig Sapashe. He added, "Focused around these industries, WAMICON pulls together great minds in a setting that promotes the exchange of ideas and offers networking opportunities. We take pride in making the event inclusive, where exhibitors, attendees, and presenters share in the technical sessions and exhibitors showcase new products."

About IEEE WAMICON: WAMICON is an annual Wireless and Microwave Conference held in Florida. WAMICON started life as an outcome of industry/academic exchange between the University of South Florida (USF) Electrical Engineering Department's Center for Wireless and Microwave Information Systems (WAMI Center) and a number of both local and national companies involved in microwave and wireless engineering. The conference began in 1999, to bring together academia, industry, and government to discuss advances in wireless and microwave technologies.
